Description
NEXUS Festival is an initiative of Musica H. in collaboration with CC het SPOOR Harelbeke. The festival is curated by Diederik Glorieux and connects with his research project on co-creation in contemporary music practice at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp, within the research group Labo XIX&XX.
For the 2026 edition, Vibrations, the historic bell tower and Sint-Salvator Church form the setting for a musical parcours with countertenor Pieter De Praetere, sound artist and composer Jorrit Tamminga, Mireille Capelle and HERMESensemble for contemporary music, and the inclusive stads[K]oor with DJ Dimitri Andreas.
Ancient chants merge with contemporary sounds, electronics and improvisation, growing into a distinctive musical experience in an exceptional location. The musicians draw particular inspiration from the oeuvre of Peter Benoit.
The first edition of the festival took place in 2025 under the name Infinizio. The 2027 edition will take place under the name Silence.
